At SOUND HSA, we believe that sound money and sound health go hand in hand. One of the simplest and most effective ways to improve your health is to get moving and spend time outdoors. In fact, a recent study published this month in The Lancet found that benefits start at just 4,000 steps per day, with a 9-39% reduction in the risk for all-cause, CVD, and cancer mortality; dementia, and even depressive symptoms. We’re setting our first weekly challenge target at 50,000 steps, as the study also found that 7,000 steps per day provided even greater benefits, reducing the risk of these outcomes by 22-47%!

Partnering with Bitcoin Walk

We’re thrilled to partner with Bitcoin Walk, a decentralized network of bitcoiners who come together to walk in nature every Saturday in over 40 locations worldwide. This summer, we're challenging you to join us in a week-long Move to Earn challenge, taking place from August 25th to 31st. Take 50K steps to earn 10K sats!.

How to participate

To participate, simply download our mobile app and get ready to move. If you're new to the bitcoin Lightning Network, don't worry - we've got you covered. Check out our guide on how to set up a Lightning Address and get started with earning sats on the go. Find a local Bitcoin Walk group in your area by messaging them on Nostr, or start your own group and get moving with friends and family

How it works

  • Download and log-in to the SOUND HSA mobile app. You can sign in with your Nostr private key (nsec), or signing app on Android, or create a new nostr account!
  • Connect a lightning address if you don’t already have one associated with your Nostr account (see more here).
  • Take 50,000 steps during the challenge period! Upload pictures to Nostr and use #MovetoEarn. Click on the health tab to track your progress throughout the week
  • Once you’ve hit 50K steps, hit the “complete challenge” button in the app’s Move to Earn tab.
  • Earn 10,000 sats, paid out instantly via the Lightning Network. As of writing, those 10K sats are worth ~$12 ;)
